Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

Two highly-trained operatives (Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy) are appointed to posts in guard towers on opposite sides of a vast and highly classified gorge, protecting the world from an undisclosed, mysterious evil that lurks within. They bond from a distance while trying to stay vigilant in defending against an unseen enemy. When the cataclysmic threat to humanity is revealed to them, they must work together in a test of both their physical and mental strength to keep the secret in the gorge before it’s too late.

Apple TV+ debuts the movie via their streaming platform.

Filmed in London.

According to director Scott Derrickson: “The Gorge blends multiple genres — romance, science fiction, action, spy thriller and even horror. The idea was to first invest a lot of time into the backstories and evolving connection between the two characters played by Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, and then see them thrust into survival mode amidst the unrelenting and unpredictable dangers and mysteries of the gorge itself.”

Directed by Scott Derrickson (Sinister, Doctor Strange, The Black Phone).

Written by Zach Dean (Deadfall, 24 Hours to Live, The Tomorrow War).

The film’s spec-script was part of 2020’s “Black List,” which is a list of the year’s best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood.

This is an action sci-fi horror film.

The Gorge premiered on Apple TV+ on February 14, 2025.
