Ten top influencers are kidnapped and forced into a deadly social media showdown where every like, share, and follow is a fight for survival. The world watches and wagers as the least popular contestant is executed by the masked Triller Killer. Post or die. In this brutal game of clout, only one will survive—while the audience turns their deaths into profit.

Fathom Entertainment distributes in the US. Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Entertainment said the following: “Horror has always been a genre that captivates moviegoers, but never has Fathom distributed to movie theatres a project quite like Skillhouse. Social media permeates our society today, and influencers have changed the dynamics of how many choose the brands they purchase and the content they consume. The brilliant Skillhouse concept is ripe for exploration on-screen and is a success story in leveraging innovative ways to reach audiences and engage with them. Fathom is proud to work with the GenTv team to bring this film to audiences on July 11.” (3/31/25)

One of the film’s producers was quoted saying: “Skillhouse has been a revolutionary film project from the outset – one that is thrilling and compelling for anyone on social media and horror fans of all ages. Skillhouse is more than just a horror film, the project is right for the times and breaks barriers by leveraging the power and appeal of influencers and immerses them into the story. GenTV is very pleased to work with the team at Fathom in creating a special theatrical engagement for this film.” (3/31/25)

Filmed in the Sway House—a mansion in Bel-Air that’s reportedly been made famous by many of TikTok’s biggest stars.

Director Josh Stolberg was quoted saying: “Working with Bryce Hall and [producer] Ryan Kavanaugh, this is sure to be a first of a new horror genre. These social media personalities are the new Hollywood, and they are reinventing what it means to be a star. When a young kid from Maryland, like Bryce, with nothing but a cell phone and a ring light, can attract tens of millions of followers on Tik-Tok and Instagram, it evens the playing field for everyone. But there’s a dark side to this new entertainment landscape, and I’m excited to flip that rock over.” Adding… “The film will be a “hard R” horror film and will have a gritty approach to what it takes to succeed in a business that relies on fans “liking you. There’s nothing I love more than writing a watercooler kill scene… and we’re already over budget with the amount of blood we’re going to use. While this concept could play for parody, I’ll be taking a more serious approach and leaning into scares and horror over humor. I’m not pulling punches. I’ve been given the green light to go for it. And I can’t wait!” (4/13/22)

Written/directed by Josh Stolberg (writer of films such as Piranha 3D, Jigsaw, Spiral and Saw X).

Described as “a high-stakes social media nightmare.”

Fathom Entertainment released Skillhouse in Theaters on July 11, 2025.
