After finding herself bitten by a mysterious animal, Lucy becomes convinced that she will transform into a fearsome werewolf. Joined by her best friend Karen, the two embark on a campy adventure filled with magic and mayhem, as they look to do battle with a throat-slashing creature ripped right out of an 80’s horror movie.
Cinedigm distributes in the US and will have the movie hit theaters for one night only, with an exclusive streaming release on the company’s streaming platform Screambox to follow.
Director Sung Kang was quoted saying: “The whole idea was to make this for the old school horror hounds and for them to share it with their families today. Little by little, we’re doing that. I couldn’t be more excited about rolling this film out.”
The directorial debut of actor-turned-director Sung Kang, who is probably best known as Han from the Fast and Furious series. Kang reportedly turned to directing “at the peak of the Covid pandemic, spending five weeks at a shuttered Girl Scout camp shooting the feature, which is a tribute to the films he grew up loving.”
Said to be inspired by classic 80’s horror films.
Cineverse and Fathom Events released Shaky Shivers in Theaters for a one-night event on September 21, 2023.
Shaky Shivers premiered on SCREAMBOX and Digital on October 17, 2023.
Cinedigm released Shaky Shivers on Blu-ray on November 14, 2023.
