When three co-workers are forced to host their company’s annual New Year’s Eve party, they’re not prepared for an unexpected guest: a serial killer dubbed “The Doctor,” who targets the party and turns the night of celebration into a bloodbath and fight for survival.
Cineverse distributes in the US.
Writer/co-director P.J. Starks offered an update on the project recently, which is currently in post-production. Here’s what was said: “The film is in postproduction being scored by composer Frank Dormani, whose music is already elevating the film in a very big way. We recently got our Owensboro crew and the Ohio special effects team together to film some additional material. We wanted to ramp up the gore on a few of the kills, of which there are over 40. For a slasher film, it’s very character-driven and plot-heavy, but we didn’t want to skimp on the blood and guts, and felt some of the deaths could be more gruesome. Next, we’re headed into the color-correction and sound-design portion. The finish line is in view, and everyone involved is super-excited to get this thing out into the world. Obviously that will be next year, and be determined by whoever distributes the film.” (12/27/23)
Filmed in Owensboro, Kentucky.
The movie had a successful crowdfunding campaign.
Co-director P.J. Starks was quoted saying: “I’m an old-school slice-and-dice fan, so writing and ultimately co-directing this has been an absolute blast. We’ve got a unique and bad-ass killer with The Doctor. Of course I’m going to say a lot of positive things, though there have been some setbacks and compromises along the way. Those things happen. The Academy won’t be singing our praises, but as long as fans of the slasher subgenre have fun with our flick, that’s good enough for me.”
This is an indie Slasher comedy.
