A family’s vacation to a remote getaway takes an unexpected turn when they discover the island they’re on is inhabited by a serial killer.

IFC Films and Shudder distribute the film in the US. The movie will receive a theatrical release in December, followed by a release on Shudder sometime in 2025. (8/26/24)

Emily Gotto, SVP of acquisitions and production for Shudder was quoted saying: “Get Away is a laugh out loud comedy that pours several buckets of blood onto a family’s sweet vacation in Sweden. This hilarious thrill ride will stir up laughs and scares in equal measure. Nick Frost revs up his horror comedy expertise with the support of a strong ensemble cast and Steffen Haars’ playful directorial touch.”

Filmed in Tampere, Finland.

Actress Lena Headey (Game Of Thrones) was originally going to star before getting replaced by Aisling Bea (Trollied, This Way Up) due to scheduling conflicts.

Directed by Steffen Haars (New Kids Turbo, New Kids Nitro).

This is a horror comedy written by Nick Frost, who is best known for his roles in the Edgar Wright-directed trio Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End.

IFC Films released Get Away in Theaters on December 6, 2024.

Get Away premieres on Sky Cinema in the UK on January 10, 2025.
