The tale of two totally opposite and estranged brothers, Nhat and Marco. Both are vampires. Nhat is a daydreamer, vowing to never devour human blood again. Marco is a rebel who fully embraces his vampirism. Marco re-enters Nhat’s life, but things are complicated when Nhat develops a relationship with a human woman who knows his secret. Marco learns of the relationship, and will stop at nothing to keep the family secret, even if it means harming his brother.

Dark Sky Pictures distributes in the US.

Director Timothy Linh Bui was quoted saying: “I wanted to tell a story about people who live within the shadows of a modern city. I was inspired by the Vietnamese riverboat communities, who have been there for decades and are overlooked by those around them. As the ultimate outsiders, vampires are the perfect vehicle to explore that world. They exist in secrecy, live on the margins, and are defined by their need to remain hidden.”

Said to be one of the first vampire films to emerge from Vietnam.

This is a Vietnamese vampire movie that’s said to blend “horror, fantasy, and thriller into a wholly original cinematic world.”

Lotte Entertainment released Nguoi Mat Troi in Theaters in Vietnam on December 8, 2023.

Dark Sky Pictures released Daydreamers in Select Theaters on May 2, 2025.

Dark Sky Pictures released Daydreamers on VOD/Digital on June 3, 2025.
