New Line Cinema—the studio that brought you “The Notebook”—and the unhinged creators of “Barbarian” cordially invite you to experience a new kind of love story…

Companion was previously scheduled to be released in Theaters on January 10, 2025.

Not much is known about the movie but it’s described to be “self-contained, and [Sophie] Thatcher is set to play a character who is more than meets the eye.”

This marks the feature film directorial debut of Drew Hancock.

It’s said that the film’s script was “won by New Line in a hot horror auction near the beginning of the year. It was initially going to act as BoulderLight and [Zach] Cregger’s follow-up to Barbarian before the filmmaker switched tracks to focus on his own script, Weapons.”

Produced by Zach Cregger (Barbarian) via his BoulderLight Pictures banner.

This is described as a sci-fi horror movie.

Warner Bros. Australia released Companion in Australian Cinemas on January 30, 2025.

Warner Bros. released Companion in Theaters on January 31, 2025.

Warner Bros. released Companion on PVOD on February 18, 2025.

Warner Home Video released Companion on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on April 1, 2025.

Companion premiered on Max on April 18, 2025.
